Tramaine de Senna's work is concerned with the construction of appearances,
attitude, and the absurd – whether in others, objects, phenomena, or herself.
Through observation of how things come to be, the resulting work speaks of its
historical testimony - its presence and aura. Between the seduction of tender-
ness in handiwork and distillation in aesthetics, her artworks hold their parallel
existences while forming their autonomy: a white noise.

In the artist talk, "The Construction of Appearances", Tramaine de Senna draws
on the attitudes within the idea of space, origin, illusions, and aesthetics –
distilled and appropriated. Specifically, the aesthetics of technology and its
implications, self-preservation, brutalist architecture, film, Afro-futurism and
David Bowie will be discussed.

Tramaine de Senna was one of the 2010 Sonoma County Emerging Artist
award recipients. She holds simultaneous degrees in Architecture and Art from
UC Berkeley; just completed her M.F.A. in Autonomous Fine Art at St. Joost in
the Netherlands; and was awarded a two-year residency at the H.I.S.K. (Higher Institute of Fine Arts) in Ghent, Belgium.
